SUIT

Preview of SUIT, a geometrical sans serif free Korean font family

SUIT is a UI-first Hangul font that builds on Source Han Sans as its Korean base but reworks everything else from the ground up. The Latin characters and numerals are redrawn in a Geometric style that actually matches the structural logic of Korean letterforms: clean, even, no unnecessary calligraphic holdovers. Then the characters are tweaked for better optical balance, and reduces the letter spacing by 4.8%. The reduction of letter spacing makes a lot of sense as most designers will reduce the letter spacing of popular open-source fonts like Inter etc in design tools anyway.

Developed by Sun Typeface, SUIT ships in a whopping 9 static weights with full Variable format support. With the intention for web use, SUIT was optimized from the start: the character set covers the standard 2,350 Hangul syllables plus 318 additional glyphs for loanwords and neologisms, keeping the woff2 file under 200kb. You can download this font for free and be used on commercial projects, as this font was released under SIL Open Font License.
