Griun Sobokhee

Preview of Griun Sobokhee, a bold and cute handwriting style free Korean font

Griun Sobokhee (그리운 소복희) is a free handwritten Korean font released on GRIUN, based on the handwriting of 소복희 (Sobokhee). She creates early-childhood education materials but couldn’t find quite the right lettering for them, hence this font is born by turning her own handwriting into a font, with the aforementioned GRIUN app. The first impression of this font is, it’s really cute, rounded and thick. The strokes are being thick intentionally so that it’s still visible and legible even seeing from afar, from across a classroom, so that the children will be able to read it from a distance. A cute yet practical and considerate design that perfectly suited the target audience and its purpose.

This font is a natural fit for kindergarten and early-childhood materials, and it works just as well anywhere you want a friendly, homemade tone: café menus, social media graphics, invitations, or packaging. Griun Sobokhee includes the core standard 2,780 Hangul syllables, basic latin characters and symbols in a single weight. It’s free to download and be used on personal and commercial projects.
